Happiness is being thankful and lots of bloggy linky love

I know that is not Thursday but I am still super thankful and really don't want to keep it in for another week so here I am. Aside from that confessions go live on a Monday so I have being late to the party well and truly under control. Well apart from the fact that the weekend is quite here yet but I am still ready to rewind if you will.

I had this brilliant idea last week to do the double up for thanks, only it never quite panned out. What with Halloween discos and a hundred odd gingerbreads waiting to be made I was a little under the pump. This was then followed by the emoest I have been in like forever. It was far from pretty.

Thankfully though that is all now behind me as I return to my normal happy self. Well as normal as I ever am.

When I saw Kirsty's prompt this week for I must confess was 5 things that make you happy I instantly wanted to sit down and start writing. After the emo week that was last week consciously thinking of happy things was just what I needed.

Apparently fifty loads of washing also needed to be seen to. As did the dishes and the floors and the...

Needless to say writing was the last thing I was actually going to do. I did momentarily think of just linking in this old post. Which isn't actually all that old but does sum up very nicely ways I can find happiness, as does this one. But since for me happiness and thankfulness seem to go hand in hand I wanted to see if I could come up with something new and tie them both together.

This week happiness was brought to me in the form of some beautiful thoughtful comments from fellow bloggers and readers. For that I am beyond thankful.

In fact a lot of my thanks and happiness revolves around the art of blogging and wonderful bloggers.

Blogging itself makes me happy, I am thankful to have found this medium and being able to be a part of the blogosphere. Every time someone reads a post, leaves a comment or shares something from the blog I am filled with both happiness and thanks.

So to all the lovely bloggers and readers who took the time to check on me and my happiness I say thank you.

Procrastination at it's best

Despite having already written one post today I am here still trying to spit another one out. Or so to speak. I'm good like that when there are things I *should* be doing. I mean of course there are always things like Mount Washandfoldme or the dishes or whatever, that I *should* but today my procrastination is avoiding more than just that usual.

In my wisdom, and desire to push myself as a writer I have entered into a flash fiction writing competition. Which essentially just means I paid someone $39 to give me 3 prompts to write a piece of flash fiction in forty eight hours or less. Twice. I mean I get to do the writing bit twice, I didn't pay twice.

Easy as really!

The first round of the NYC Midnight Challenge kicked off about eight hours ago. That means I have less than forty hours left to write less than a thousand words of awesomeness. Despite not having really started yet I am quietly confident. Good omens have abound.

To start with I was put in group number 23. Which just happens to be my birthdate. While romance may not be my favourite genre it is far better than science fiction or mystery or a heap of others that I really don't think I can write well.

Being the organised on top of it chick that I'm not, I had actually forgotten that the challenge started today. Just by chance my mother offered to have the girls for the night. I read the email with my prompts just after I dropped the girls off. To think I didn't by a lottery ticket when I was at the shops this morning.

Sigh.

The weather is starting to well and truly turn now. The stickiness has begun, yet so far to go before there is actually rain amongst the sky. I don't really like this time of year. The waiting for rain is worse than waiting for Godot. There is rarely relief in sight. I much prefer it when rain is much more assured.

A romance, in an apple orchard, with a fake moustache. Almost sounds like a cliché.

Is rolling around under the shade of apple trees romantic. Heightened only when the fake moustache of the mystery lover falls off in the passion of the moment. Revealing....well that would be spoiling.

No, I have no idea how I will tackle this all. Ironically I am taking to pen and paper to work it all out. To understand the irony I guess you need to read that post I mentioned earlier. So I guess with that in mind I should be off.

There were things I thought I wanted to share. Stories that were not mine, but broke my heart none the less. Bad news and worry that was not needed, not for me as such, just those I care for. But since they are not mine to even discreetly mention in any way there is nothing I will say.

Sigh.

I have far to many tabs open. Things I want to read, or make comment. Things that have in some way provoked a thought or two. A possible blog post or even feature pitch if I was so inclined. Things like this.

The contraceptive pill has always concerned me. It just doesn't seem right to mess with nature like that. As much as I find menstruation a discomfort I would rather not endure it is not something that should just be dismissed with chemical alterations either. Everything, even our bodily functions, happens for a reason.

And then there is this about the mother who sold her daughter's One Direction concert tickets because she and her friends were caught lying. There is a part of me that wants to post it to Lovely's Facebook wall. I am sure it wouldn't to hurt her to know that I am not actually the worst mother in the world. Regardless of what she may think.

Please don't think I am inferring that this woman in question in this article is the world's worst mother, because that is far from my point. The complete opposite in fact. In my eyes I think this woman is a champ. I don't necessarily agree with the way some of her quotes were worded but her intentions were most definitely in the right place. Her children however, much like mine, may not appreciate her efforts.

Anyway time is quickly slipping away from me and there are some notes that need to be made before I head to bed.

Any plot ideas for me?

Something difficult about my 'lot in life' #BlogEveryDayInMay

I may not have blogged here every day in
May, but I have been trying my best
to make the most of each day. Including a
little getaway from it all.
So it turns out the whole blogging every day in May thing hasn't worked out so well for me.

Which is kinda a shame but not overly surprising and quite possibly why I choose to do it here rather than on my other blog. I did however think that I would have lasted a little longer.

Mind you I also didn't expect to fall quite so far behind.

But never mind.

It is what it is. (Which is apparently quite the catch cry of late because I seem to be hearing it everywhere)

Anyway as I sit here in front of my screen surrounded by only the glow from the fish tank and computer, listening to the soft sounds of Alanis Morissette, I am in two minds as to how to proceed from here.

I could go back and do each day individually and just back date each post so that it looked like I blogged every day in May. Alternatively I could do just a few bulk posts and catch up to today and then hope like crazy I don't fall behind again.

Or I could forget about it all and just be done with it. Which I don't really want to do. Why that is I am not sure but there you go.

So here is what I have missed out on so far

Day 5, Sunday: Publicly profess your love and devotion for one of your blogger friends. What makes them great? Why do you love them? If you don't have blogger friends, talk about a real-life friend or even a family member
Day 6, Monday: If you couldn't answer with your job, how would you answer the question, 'what do you do'?
Day 7, Tuesday: The thing(s) you're most afraid of
Day 8, Wednesday: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.
Day 9, Thursday: A moment in your day (this can be just a photo or both a photo and words)
Day 10, Friday: Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.
Day 11, Saturday: Sell yourself in 10 words or less
Day 12, Sunday: What do you miss? (a person, a thing, a place, a time of your life...)
Day 13, Monday: Issue a public apology. This can be as funny or as serious or as creative as you want it to be.
Day 14, Tuesday: Ten things that make you really happy
Day 15, Wednesday: A Day in the life (include photos from throughout your typical day - this could be "a photo an hour" if you'd like)

Sigh.

Decisions, decisions hey? I know at the end of the day it doesn't really matter one way or another.

Maybe I will work backwards and forwards at the same time and by the end of the month I will have it altogether?

Maybe the fact that today's challenge is this

Day 16, Thursday: Something difficult about your "lot in life" and how you're working to overcome it

is actually a sign that something difficult in my lot in life is that I often lack commitment and discipline. Consistency is not my strong point either. I most certainly always also struggle with time management and deadlines as well. All of which I work on almost daily, with varying ranges of success.

On being uncomfortable #BlogEveryDayInMay

Sitting here right now I am beyond uncomfortable.
Ok I am not actually sitting here on these benches right now, but you gotta admit they sure look uncomfortable.
Image thanks to here
If you are a follower on my Facebook page for my other blog A Parenting Life, you would know that this week has seen me suffer (and not necessarily in silence) of a back aliment. And if you are not a follower, the link to the page is right there go and sign up quick sticks.

Today's challenge for the #BlogEveryDayInMay challenge over at Story of My Life is
Things that make you uncomfortable

It makes me uncomfortable to think that I didn't have the foresight to fore read the prompts for the challenge. That way I could have saved all that uncomfortableness around people that I shared yesterday for today.

Oh well live and learn I guess. Back to being uncomfortable.

Even though I am sitting in a worn out leather office executive office type chair rather than the above concrete benches, my back is aching like I don't know what, it just hurts a lot. It has done all week and while I was at the doctors twice this week neither time provided the opportunity to discuss why my back is suddenly having a hissy fit.

At the tender age of thirty five I fail to see that it could really be due to old age but alas I fear that may be it. Or at least a combination of that and excess exercise. I may have pushed myself a little to far to quick last week with my running goals.

Again live and learn I guess. Now where was I?

Oh that's right, things that make me uncomfortable.

Top of the list, without a doubt are Zombies. This was confirmed for me last week when The Mister and Miss 12 dragged me along to see Warm Bodies. While there is little I actually like about Zombies it is the whole brain eating thing that makes me the most uncomfortable.

Walking into a room of people I don't know also makes me rather uncomfortable but in a whole different way. The level of uncomfortable varies depending on the room and why we are all gathered.

Mind you just between you and me there are times when even just leaving the house to drop Miss 6 at school can make me feel uncomfortable so perhaps it is just human interaction at large that brings about my uncomfortable feelings. Which is strange because in another life I was all about people and interacting with them. I even thrived on it I think.

Sigh.

Thinking of the past some times, what was, what could have been, perhaps even what should have been. That too can make me uncomfortable at times.

For now though I am reminded that sitting here in this chair typing away is making me uncomfortable. Which is tough because at the same time the therapy of writing fixes so many other uncomfortables for me.

What makes you uncomfortable?

On being a know all #BlogEveryDayInMay

Today's challenge is
Source

Educate us on something you know alot about or are good at. Take any approach you'd like (serious and educational or funny and sarcastic)
As I mentioned yesterday I have two half degrees that apparently will never equate to one full degree. Which in some ways makes me wonder if I know a lot about anything or perhaps just a little on a lot.

Having thought about what I could share I decided that perhaps some of my infant massage tips would be the best bet. There was a time, which feels like many moons ago now, I set about to become an Infant Massage Instructor. Which essentially is just someone who showed new parents how they could massage and subsequently connect with their new little bundle of joy.

It was an opportunity that needed someone who was comfortable around strangers. I wasn't really. I'm still not. What gets me most is just how uncomfortable I get. Or sometimes even just think I may get. Because when it is compared to some of the things I have done, it just doesn't seem to match.

Somewhere along the way, something known as life seems to changed the once rambunctious, full of confidence, give anything a go girl, into what appears at times to be a mere shell of what was once. Now the mere thought of having to leave the house and interact with more than two people at once takes days of preparation. Both logistical and mental.

But I digress, the topic I was going to educate you on, was not my ridiculous internal thoughts that quite possibly prevent me from living life to the fullest. More than likely you have plenty of your own to worry about anyway.

Mind you I decided that infant massage wasn't what I was going share my knowledge on either. Even though it was a while ago I have written about how infant massage can help dads bond with their newborn previously. In fact it was not that long after writing that article I realised that I would never really make it as an Infant Massage Instructor.

Don't get me wrong I am still to this day passionate about the benefits of massage, not just for infants as well, it's just the whole getting out there and selling myself to the world at large. It is not really one of my strongest points.

And as awesome as it might have been having strangers give me money so I could share my awesomeness (knowledge in infant massage techniques) with them I just didn't feel comfortable about it all. Read as I was too scared to really try for fear of failing but that is a post for another day as well

Now where was I in regards to knowing something to share...

I know that I am really enjoying the challenges for the #BlogEveryDayInMay challenge over at Stories Of My Life

I know that I was amazed to see 668 linkers on the first day. That just blows my little mind away. I guess this is one linky party where I won't be getting around to every blog that joins in.

I know that when I realised if I thought about it the right way I would be able to give this post a double whamy with the linky love and join in with Things I Know with the ever lovely Miss Cinders

I know that it is one of my favourite linky's as we all know stuff.

I know that I have actually shared so many things that I know through that linky you should just go and check them out for yourself  here

My Life - 250 words or less #BlogEveryDayInMay

I don't really know why I stopped making things matter. Or at least stopped writing here about making things matter.

I guess it doesn't really matter either way.

Today as I surfed around the net, unable to do anything because my back is sore (made worse by sitting but I got sick of laying down) I noticed a few bloggers with posts showing a button like the one below.
After a bit of investigation I found myself here. Which is actually where the button will take you just in a new page

I can't really explain why but for some reason I wasn't comfortable with doing it on A Parenting Life. Well I didn't want to put this post there at least. I think it has something to do with the fact I already have a few posts mentally lined up there and I couldn't see how I could fit anything else in.
While I may not have blogged every day there, I have been a lot more regular of late than what I once was. This lovely space however has been blank for far too long. It feels nice actually to be opening it all back up here.
Not that I ever actually closed it but you know what I mean.
So the #BlogEveryDayInMay challenge today is
The story of your life in 250 words or less (or one paragraph... no one will be counting your words... probably)

So with that in mind.

Born to a loving couple and forever told the beauty of being a love child. Is now married to the man of her dreams with three beautiful children to boot.

The memory of school is met with mixed emotions. The joy of learning could never be denied but the experience as a whole is not joyous as such. Graduated high school to then have two incomplete degrees. Which apparently do not make a whole.

Proud Territory representative of the debate team at the national championship and once avid public speaker. However whether such skills are still current remains to be seen

Somewhere in amongst it all there have been numerous piercings and a shaved head. There has never been ink and it is expected to remain that way as well.

While currently gainfully unemployed, there have been instances where hard work was the norm. And quite often enjoyed. Retail, waitressing, motel management and marketing a few of the roles enjoyed. Quietly hoping that one day the acclaimed writing thing comes true.

At times quite the resistor to change. When it is clear that change is unavoidable it is preferred to be carried out a slower than a snails pace. However a twelve month road trip is currently being planned. Lots of change will have to occur for it to happen.

Sender of fairy wishes and butterfly kisses when ever the occasion may deem it necessary. Optimism and hope seem to always shine through, at least in someway.

And that's a wrap. My life in 250 words or less.

In case you were wondering, and to save you counting, if you really needed to know, it was 247.

A hot date and I take being really really ridiculously good looking to a whole new level

Saturday was Mr Awesome's birthday. I was certain that it would provide me with ample opportunity to strut my really really ridiculously good looking self. After all we had lunch booked in with our mothers and while details were sketchy we had a few hours in the evening put aside for a hot date.

Lunch was to be a simple affair down at the local sports club. As a valued member, Mr Awesome, had been sent a $20 voucher to celebrate his special day. We had arranged to meet everyone at 12pm. Naturally at 11.45 we were not even close to being ready to leave so we rang and told everyone to push it back by half an hour. Turns out this suited everyone better anyway.

Even though we were rushing and running late I took the time for a bit of mascara and lippy. Well I coloured my lips in with a lip liner and then rubbed some Vaseline over them for a bit of a shine. That is like lippy isn't it?

Anyway what I didn't do was stop and take a photo of my efforts. Which is a shame because my effort also included wearing a skirt and that doesn't happen every day of the week let me tell you. As we were racing out the door I made some passing remark about how I went to extra effort now in case the whole hot date thing didn't work out. It was almost like my sub conscious could foresee the evening's events.

Cutting a long story short we did manage to make it out. Living life on an edge we randomly decided to catch a bus into the city and go to dinner. Only we didn't exactly leave ourselves enough time to get ready. This resulted in us racing out the door in pretty much the same clothes we wore to lunch except I ditched the skirt in favour of rolled up jeans. Rolled up on account it is to darn hot to wear them otherwise.

Sharing the above photo on my Facebook page Lauren kindly reminded me of what a great opportunity this could be to join in #RRRGL. Or at least it would have been had I not been wearing clothes that I was sure I had already blogged about.

Not wanting to lose an opportunity though I took a few more selfies while waiting for the bus home.

In the first couple I worried my eyes didn't look open. Clearly I then over compensated for that.

Just in case you wanted to see what my rolled up jeans looked like.
Oh and my orange shoes. I love them. Which is lucky because other than sneakers and thongs they are all I have to cover my little feet up with. And to show you that I really had gone all out there is my arm with an extra two bangles on. All out I tell you.

Songs on Sunday

Despite spending the greater portion of the week cleaning the house is still in need of  a quick once over. It is such a vicious never ending cycle that we are all to well aware of. In a bid to make this dreariness somewhat bearable I like to listen to music.

Since I find decision making tricky at times I tend to just let iTunes select what is played. Though I do skip through a few here and there. On the whole it is not to bad. Though it does only stand to reason that I would like whatever is played based on the fact that it is my music collection and all.

Every now and then though there comes a stretch of great songs. As I sat down to write this post that very moment was occurring. iTunes had kindly selected one of my favourite songs. Well a cover version of it any way.

From Little Things Big Things grow has been up there in my top favourite list. Having Dan Sultan sing it though just makes my knees go gooey. Dan Sultan has seriously got the look if you know what I mean. He is my school girl giggly, gets me juicy guy.

But moving along.

I am not sure what relevance that has to anything. iTunes had kindly selected the above song for my listening pleasure. As Dan gets to his bit I suddenly realise I could probably view it on YouTube. And low and behold...

The rest, as they say is history.

Next up was

Which while not having quite the same effect on me as Sultan it is still a rather enjoyable tune to do the cleaning to. It is no good for writing as I get to caught up in the heart warming lyrics.

So there you have it, some of the songs I am listening to this Sunday.

What are you up to? Or better still what songs are you listening to?

Make it Matter Monday

Last week there was no making it matter anything.  Last week was a bit of a standstill in many ways.  In fact last week was such a waste of a week I am not even sure why I had to endure it.  I achieved nothing, got nowhere and am more than glad that it is all behind me.

In my defense I did have a sickly child which brought with it broken sleep and constant demands.  However I also managed to waste quite large portions of the days playing stupid (yet addictive) computer games.  Thankfully that is all behind me now though.  A new week has started and I am ready and raring to go.

Little Miss Too Sick For School is no longer too sick for school and happily returned to the classroom today.  It was actually a little tricky to see who was more excited, myself or her.  Don't get me wrong I love having them around and have even briefly contemplated the possibility of home schooling, but last week there were things I wanted to do that having a sickly child stopped me from doing.  The first few days I was full of understanding and compassion but by Friday it had been replaced with frustration and a lack of patience.

Back to this week though.

When I last wrote about  Make it Matter Monday, I was going to write myself up a schedule for the weeks to come.  One that would allow me time for simple things like running, writing, quality family time, helping at the school and socialising, both for me and the children.  Needless to say that never happened.  Which in some ways is not a bad thing as I just realised that I should have included some form of housework to the list.

As I sit here I feel I can honestly say that the house is more in order than it has been for quite some time.  There are still a few little areas in need of attention but on the whole it is not too bad.  Let's just it is all manageable at the moment and I feel far from my usually feeling of being overwhelmed by it all.  Which I must say is kinda nice, especially after my stay in struggle town last week.

In fact this week is even off to such a great start I managed to get my Martha Stewart on before school.
Not only did I get my Martha on but I managed to take a happy snap and Instagram it,
giving more hope that I may one day really cut it as a blogging super star.

So goals for this week

  • exercise - I would like this to actually read running but Miss Eleven has decided that riding to school is the latest trend and being the over protective mother that I am this mean I too must ride to school with her.  Which kinds sucks as it cuts into my running time but I can still get fit from bike riding so I guess all is not lost.
  • writing - I really want a week of scheduled posts in place.
  • set up a weekly plan (even if it is just a loose one)
  • stay on top of the housework - you know simple stuff like do the dishes before they stack up to leaning tower levels, do a load of laundry a day, yadda, yadda...
  • finish cleaning the fridge - seemed like such a good idea yesterday when I started.  Halfway through though I lost interest and put it all back.  Turns out the job was much bigger than expected and not able to be squeezed in before dinner preparations.  Live and learn I guess.
  • clean one cupboard - I am sure part of the reason why I am so disorganised is because I have cupboards full of crap.  Crap that is not longer needer and should be moved out of my house.  I plan to tackle a cupboard a week till they are all done.
  • Get my head around a heap of school council dramas and provide some solutions- Urgh.
On top of that I am helping out in the canteen for two days so it looks like a pretty full on week.  Which is both good and bad.  The old saying if you want something done ask a busy person keeps playing in my head so hopefully having a lot on my plate will mean I get a lot done.

There is also a lot of in between the lines stuff I want to do as well.  Stuff like bake more snacks, have lunches sorted in advance, try meal planning, the list is probably endless.  There are a few reasons why am not going into to many details.  The first being I don't want to bore you and the second being if I don't get them done I won't beat myself up too much.

So on that note I better step away from my beloved Mac and get things done!

How I went

For those of you interested in how I went with my list yesterday, this is the post for you.  For those of you who missed yesterday's post here is what I hoped to do

  • Buy items necessary for gift stall gifts
  • Make items, ready for stall (tomorrow {which is now today), I did say it was all a bit last minute)
  • Write two awesome blog posts (this one and one at APL)
  • Read a heap of awesome #IBOT posts
  • Clean kitchen
  • Fold washing
  • Fold more washing
  • Cook dinner and clean kitchen again
In the nearly two hours that Miss Nearly Six went to school for, before deciding to come home sick, I managed to duck into the awesomeness that is Officeworks.  I like to think of it as the wife equivalent to Bunnings.  As you can imagine it tickles me no end to know they are owned by the same company.  Just completes the whole him and her thing for me.  Anyway yesterday I managed to duck in there get the laminating pouches and things that I needed, plus only a few extras I didn't really need.

It is with great delight that I can report I did get a heap of bookmarks made.  When I say bookmarks I mean bits of wrapping paper that have been laminated.  Miss Eleven was a great help with these.  We decided to spice things up a bit this year and made some fridge magnets as well.
When I finally got everyone into bed last night I even managed to whip up a few tissue paper flowers.  Of which I naturally don't have photos for because I forgot.  In fact the only reason I could post the one above is because Miss Eleven had kept a few for herself.  I find it all a bit ironic really since yesterday I posted this to Instagram
See! I am a real Mummy blogger.  Here is a photo of lunch today
I have noticed that most other blogs have a lot more photos than what I do.  It is something I have been thinking about it a bit lately.  My over active imagination considered that the reason why I am yet to make it big is because of the lack of imagery.  Anyway back to me being accountable for my time yesterday.

When I wrote my post here yesterday I was quietly confident that I had it all in the bag.  I felt calm and in control.  Even though I had left it all to the day before.  I was certain I had not over extended myself. Of course at nine o'clock last night when I was only just halfway through what I wanted to make I was questioning this.  As it turned out I had just the right amount.  I still need to make some more flowers but that is not such as a bad thing as I am thinking they may well make a great how to vlog.

Sadly I never got the second awesome post written.  Thankfully I have a relaxed attitude to that and can sleep well with knowing I at least got one awesome post written.  While I may not have read as many awesome IBOT posts as I would have liked, I did manage to read all my #teamIBOT posts.  So all is not lost there.

I had been really super efficient before I blogged and folded some washing.  Even managed to get it put away.  As we all know though there is always more.  Sadly though more did not get done here yesterday. Even as I write there is a line full of washing patiently waiting for me to get it in.  The joys of no rain - never a rush to get the washing in till it is actually needed.

Dinner was cooked and ready at a reasonable hour.  Super big well done to me on that one.  Particularly since there was enough left over that we get it again tonight.  Which is what has allowed me to sit here and write.

The kitchen however is another story altogether.  So are the floors.

In fact the less said about them the better.

Since it is nearly dinner time there is little point putting up a list of what I need to do.  Aside from that this post has gone on for nearly long enough and big thanks to you for still reading.

Tomorrow will be much like today.  At school selling to the masses.  Thankfully I have found another mum to keep me company.  Which is nice.  Especially since our daughters are in the same class and we don't really know each other.  Even though I am not going to give myself a to do list for tomorrow I will still be back then with some more on how I plan on increasing my accountability.

Getting Priorities Sorted

Over the last week I have spent a great deal of time thinking about what it is that matters.  Sometimes I find it actually ends up being more of a case of what matters most.  Which unfortunately is sometimes easier said than done.

Here's what I mean.

Having a clean and tidy kitchen area matters.  When the kitchen is clean and tidy and I more likely to prepare yummy and nutritious food for those that I love.

Having fun and enjoying time with my beautiful little family matters.  Creating memories that we can all look back at fondly, matters.  We only get one chance at this thing called life and I really want to make sure I make the most of it, and encourage my girls to do the same.

Of course sometimes, actually more times than not, the kitchen cleaning thing doesn't seem to matter as much as the making memories thing.  Only it needs to.

There is something particularly nice about coming downstairs at stupid o'clock in the morning and being able to make coffee while still half asleep without battling through the leaning towers of dishes.  Not to mention the advantages of not having to wash cups before using them.  Orderly kitchens matter.

The worst part of all of this is that the kitchen part could be easily exchanged for washing.  Staying on top of the washing matters.  Staying on top of the washing means that you only have to do a little bit each and every day.  Rather than dedicate the first day of the school holidays to washing school uniforms and fifty thousand pairs of knickers.  Seriously I can do a whole load some days of nothing but odd socks and knickers.

Mind you there are a thousand other little jobs around here that I regularly need to make matter and often don't.  All under the guise of spending time with the family.  For the most part that is true but then there are times like now.  When I am trying my very best to make writing matter more than anything else.  There are mountains of dishes waiting patiently for my attention.

It all come's down to priorities
Not always something I have done well with, but certainly something that needs to matter.  It can be hard at times working out what needs to matter the most.   As I am currently discovering.

Only when I stop and think about some of the things Eden must have seen lately I wonder what really matters after all?

What's that? You haven't heard of Eden and her World Vision Journey to Niger?  Now that is stuff that really matters.

Eden is doing something that will make a difference.  In fact it has already made a difference.  People have sponsored a child because of Eden.  How. Awesome. Is. That?  World Vision will be able to use that money to truly make a difference to somebodies life.

I sit here moaning about my dirty dishes and having to clean the kitchen or wash some clean clothes and there are people over there that barely have enough water to drink.  What needs to matter now?
